Perficient Promises the Chance to Give Back

At Perficient, colleagues are uniquely positioned to deliver meaningful experiences and make a collective impact on our clients, communities, and one another. Together with our partners, clients, and colleagues, we’re constantly pursuing progress, and we’re committed to advancing our organization, our communities, and our future leaders.

Supporting Rebuilding Together Charlotte

When the opportunity came about to partner with a leading healthcare provider client to support Rebuilding Together Charlotte, business consultant, Lori Jane Shoenthal, who happened to be working on that project, jumped right in with enthusiasm. “It was quite windy and I really should have tied my hair back, but no worries, the paint washed right out!” she shared with humor.

With plenty of meaningful ways to get involved and give back, Perficient colleagues are always sharing unique ways they have proudly represented our company and put their skills to use. This time, Lori rolled up her sleeves and got to work building desks.

“We helped construct desks that would be delivered to the charity organization, Beds for Kids, that then distributed to children in need to help them with home or remote schooling,” she explains.

In total, 26 desks were built and painted, meaning 26 students now have a comfortable, dedicated spot for learning.

Helping to both paint and construct desks, Lori shared details from the experience. “We worked in pairs and pulled the materials we needed on our instructions sheet and first constructed the base, then middle section, then top and assembled all together with some wood glue and securing with screws. We then took our desks outside to use an electric sander and make sure it is smooth on all edges. After that, we selected which color to carefully paint it. Lastly, after about 2-3 coats, we were all done.”

We Go All in For Our Clients and Communities

Perficient employees often collaborate across teams, technologies, and time zones, but even as a global company, we’re able to offer the local touch. Lori’s participation shows our clients we want to collaborate wholly, and also fulfills our commitment to supporting the communities in which we live and work. On top of that, it was fun to safely get together to be a little creative, “I really enjoyed this volunteer event and will look to do another one in the future!”
