Perficient Colleague Fights Food Insecurity in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan Community

Eric Famutimi Perficient

One of the great things about Perficient is the chance to work with people from all over the world; it’s this diversity of perspectives that lead to our ultimate innovation. Here, you could be working on a client project with people on another continent or sitting in the office next to someone who came from halfway around the world.

Our “Think Global, Act Local” approach is represented in our culture, too. Through Perficient’s kindness campaign, the philanthropy our colleagues provided touched tens of thousands of people in communities large and small.

Paying it Forward to Local Mt. Pleasant, Michigan Community

Eric Famutimi, Technical Architect, shared a wonderful example of this on LinkedIn:

Eric Perficient“In a time when most companies are downsizing and laying off, not only has Perficient kept our workforce but also gave each employee $100 to give back to the community we live in. The kids and I matched this and donated $200 to our church, The Potters House Food Pantry, which in turn used it to buy food from a local grocery store that tripled the amount spent.

In other words, $100 from Perficient to my small community grew to becoming $600 that will provide a meal for about 300 people!!!

Relocating from one of the largest cities in Nigeria to Mt. Pleasant in Michigan, I never knew 18 years later I would still be living in the same city. . .Who would have thought that a company almost 600 miles away [like Perficient] would have such a significant influence in my small community just because one person from that community works with the company?

It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of this great company and I look forward to many more years as we collectively help mankind not just through technology and innovation but also good deeds.”

Colleagues Come Together to Fight Food Insecurity

The fight against hunger has been an important focus area for our colleagues for years. Through our Make a December Difference campaign, thousands of dollars went to the fight against hunger by supporting nonprofits and giving back in direct and meaningful ways.
