Perficient Colleague Creates Pay It Forward Chain of Kindness for Dogs for Adoption in Charlotte, NC

50 Scent

UPDATE: Dog AJ was adopted over the new year’s weekend! We wish him and his new family a wonderful 2021.

When Perficient’s campaign of kindness “Make a December Difference” launched in November of 2020, Matt Kislowski, Client Services Director at Perficient, had no idea the impact he and his family would personally make.

“This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen a company do — I’m thrilled to be a part of it!” Matt Kislowski, Client Services Director at Perficient

Perficient make a december difference

During our “Make a December Difference” campaign, each of our 4,500 employees across the world received $100 to pay it forward toward the charity, fund, community, or cause that is most meaningful to them. We are fortunate that as a business, we have the opportunity to be the change and to spread some much-need joy.

Perficient colleagues have given back in a multitude of creative and impactful ways to a variety of causes. It’s our hope that these single acts of giving and gratitude leave individual marks on the communities in which we live and work.

A “Make A December Difference” Success Story with a Twist

Matt chose to partner with the Humane Society of Charlotte to take a unique approach to make his December Difference. He knew older dogs are often overlooked in favor of puppies and finding homes for them can be more challenging. There are many reasons to adopt older dogs, and Matt’s approach made the process even easier for one Charlotte, NC couple — but more on that later.

Matt and his wife, Becky Csongei, put the $100 from Perficient towards the $150 adoption fees for an older dog, 50 Scent, covering the rest themselves. Matt documented his experience across Twitter and LinkedIn, providing invested followers with highly anticipated updates and encouraging them to share.

The Pay it Forward Act of Kindness Catches On

It was with great joy one December Monday morning when Matt shared the good news. Matt and Becky’s hard work paid off — 50 Scent was adopted over the weekend, right in time to spend his first holiday with his fur-ever home.

On top of the joyous news about 50 Scent, the couple that adopted him chose to pay it forward and sponsor another older dog’s adoption fees!

Welcome to the Perficient family, indeed! As this pay-it-forward chain of kindness grows, it’s great to see 50 Scent getting the attention he deserves.

Great job to everyone involved! It’s wonderful to see our colleagues give back to their communities like this. Now, how will you go “Make a December Difference”?
