It is most definitely as a result of lockdown with so many people as they were looking for an alternative solution. I think Skype missed out on this wave due to recent changes and perhaps Microsoft Teams not quite getting their marketing right. The product and service is great but with Zoom there are so many easier routes for people to take. A real shame but hopefully Teams will eventually rise and become so much more popular.
