In a recent survey entitled IT Services for the Enterprise: Sourcing Decisions, Grayson Kemper of technology research and referral firm Clutch noted interesting trends about how companies are using outsourcing agencies. Kemper interviewed 582 US-based enterprise IT decision-makers (those that work at companies with over 500 employees) in order to examine trends in IT priorities and procurement strategies among enterprises. Here is what he found:
- ?Three-fourths (75%) of the enterprises surveyed currently employ third-party service providers for IT services.
- Enterprises most commonly employ third-party providers for IT services that concern data security and management—which also happen to be the central tenets of enterprise mobility strategies.
- Enterprises cite better quality, communication, and security to explain the trend of favoring domestic providers over offshoring for IT services.
