Discovering Cloud Migration with AWS

While cloud computing is an accepted strategy for most organizations, many have still not made the move due to the sheer number of applications and data that require migration. Additionally, there are more tools than ever that make the migration process possible, creating additional difficulties for platform selection.

One of the leading cloud migration platforms today is Amazon Web Services (AWS), who understands that data is the cornerstone of successful cloud application deployments. They offer a suite of tools to help you move data via networks, roads and technology partners, overcoming infrastructure, technology, and technical limitations.

Some highlighted solutions include:

  • AWS Snowball, a petabyte-scale data transport solution that uses secure appliances to transfer large amounts of data into and out of AWS. Data transfers are a fifth of the cost compared to high-speed internet and is done securely, so you know your data is always in the right hands.
  • Storage Gateways, which are on-premises and links your environment to the AWS cloud. These are ideal in hybrid cloud situations where some storage is needed locally for performance or compliance reasons and can be transferred to the cloud on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Kinesis Firehose, a streaming data capture tool for AWS. It can capture and automatically load streaming data into Amazon S3 and Amazon Redshift, enabling near real-time analytics with existing business intelligence tools and dashboards you’re already using today.

With these resources and more at your disposal, migrating into the cloud just got less overwhelming. If you’re interested in learning more, reach out to one of our specialists at and download our Amazon Web Services guide for additional information.
