Life at Perficient

Hitting a Home Run with Perficient

I grew up in the Belleville, IL, area and attended Belleville East High School, the home of the Lancers. During those four years (2004 to 2008), I developed as a student, an athlete, and more importantly, a person thanks to the softball program.
I can’t begin to express what an awesome group of coaches are involved in the East athletics program – softball in particular. The coaches go out of their way every single day to help the girls improve in their beloved sport, ace their English papers, and resolve the issues that life throws at them.
This year (the 2016/2017 season) I was “hired” on as a volunteer coach. I assist with the high school pitchers and teach them how to improve their speed, movement, mental game, and pitch control. So far, it has been a success. The team’s record is 16-2, and we are just halfway through the season. Not only am I able to help with the Varsity and JV softball teams at the high school, I help with the Belleville Jr. Lancers’ pitchers, ages 8 to 14 years old.

Perficient’s flexible schedule allows me to make the early evening game times and assist in practices during the week. The girls get a boost of confidence when I am in attendance at their games. They have the opportunity to put all of their hard work during practice into action.

Perficient is on FlexJobs’ 2017 Top 100 Remote Work List and for good reason. Perficient allows me to grow in my career but still have a life. I can still do the things I enjoy most while making a large contribution to our marketing department. I am honored to be able to give back to a program that gave so much to me.
