We start our journey from the distant country of Canada, home of the famous Gord Downie and the Tragically Hip. I will board the vessel clothed in a New Orleans MVP T-Shirt awaiting the appearance of other Canadian MVPs. Upon arrival in NOLA we hope to meet other crew members like @Sitecorey, @SitecoreJon, @Sitecordial and the famous @SitecoreGeorge. You have probably heard that he scored the highest ever on the Coveo Certification. I look forward to his presentation on Sitecore DevOps Goodness on Azure: Visual Studio Team Services.
Read the Countdown To Sitecore Ignition Day 1 blog post if you have not heard of Ignition you need to read this article and follow the series.

Landing in Philadelphia was awesome, loved the movie poster montage. Some awesome movies got filmed here. The taxi from the Louis Armstrong Airport passed Xavier University and I thought about my son as he told me last night how Gambit was from New Orleans.

We arrived at the Hyatt Regency and a late lunch at Vitascope was amazing.  If you have dietary concerns they have some great gluten-free stuff on the menu.  They do not server chocolate milk or even milk however they did server really amazing Iced Tea (note to Canadians this is not our typical Iced Tea if you want that you have to ask for Sweet Tea).

By the way, in the hotel lobby they have lemonade, it is by far the best I have ever tasted.  There is heavy rain at the moment so we are back at the hotel.  Another tip for those in town today, the convenience store/gift shop in the lobby on the 3rd floor is 24 hours tonight, it has lots of things an MVP may need.
I just got asked by a lot of people about workouts. Yes Sitrecorey, there is a fitness floor in the hotel, I am going to go check it out.  I will let you know what I find.

There is a gym it is filled with equipment. I tried out the Elliptical Bike. Picture below.

I will be doing a workout tomorrow prior to the plantation tour.  The hotel is filled with Raiders fans, we went to the Salt Water Pool on the 5th floor for a swim. I think I saw a football player hanging out by the pool for a bit. He looked familiar but I could not place exactly which player it was.  It makes sense he would be staying in this hotel as it is right beside the Superdome.

There is live Jazz in the lobby, they even managed to sneak in the Spiderman Theme into one of their performances but we noticed.

More updates tomorrow.

A tip for those flying in today, if you are staying at the Hyatt Regency then there is a pizza place right in the hotel that delivers amazing pizza for a good price too. We ordered it last night and it was delicious.  I had a slice for breakfast too. Pizza Consegna delivers right to your door.  You can find their phone number and menu on the electric bike in the lobby.

Just read the second article in the Countdown to Ignition series day 2 – why use ignition We are going upstairs for some time on the elliptical bike.
Went to the Whitney Plantation Tour.  It was super hot and humid with thunder and lightning in the distance. Very moving tour lots of history.  Closer to the hotel, a lot of locals told us Mother’s was the place to eat. If you are in town for the conference you have to eat there. It is amazing local fare.

On the way back into the hotel I met fellow MVPs Mark Servais, Jon Upchurch and Ashkay Sura on the way out to eat. Will be meeting them later to chill. Maybe Akshay will show up in this blog article tonight.
Just read Countdown to Ignition – Day 3 – Why it matters to us non-dev and if you are a non-dev you should read this to learn more about ignition.
I look forward to seeing you all there and will be updating the ship log in blog posts as the journey progresses.
Oh don’t forget to drop by the Perficient Booth 217, scan your badge, discuss your journey, and meet the crew.
