Forrester Touts Advancements in IBM’s API Management Service

In a recent report, Forrester analyzed the crowded API management marketplace and the dynamics in the current vendor field. Considering all 20 emerging and established vendors in the API management space, Forrester had high praise for IBM’s recent enhancements to their analytics and portal features, and of the established vendors, stated that “IBM made the most significant forward progress” in the last year. Here are the highlights on IBM’s recent improvements to their API management platform:

  • Analytics and portal with the addition of a simplified model for lifecycle management
  • Swagger and CORS support and a new issue ticketing feature
  • Richer user roles and UI access controls
  • Policy authoring improvements
  • JavaScript custom policies
  • Deployment of custom policies to SaaS gateways without the need for separate gateway licenses
