The Consulting Career Path at Perficient

Blog contribution by Perficient Campus Recruiter Jennifer Stuart.

As a campus recruiter for Perficient I’m frequently describing what a consulting career path looks like within our organization. Perficient does a great job of allowing individuals to shape their career according to their interests and passions, and the following information should provide a general road map of career progression at Perficient.
MePerficient typically has colleagues begin their careers as either an Associate Business Consultant or a Technical Consultant. During your time as an Associate Consultant you’ll begin learning about the services Perficient offers and the technologies we work with while you’re developing consulting skills. Perficient uses several different tools and strategies for training, including both formal onsite training classes and online training as well. The traditional education model is used in conjunction with learning from senior team members who take pride in mentoring new consultants and lead by example during client interactions.
As a consultant gains additional skills and experiences, more career opportunities are made available to them. After a few years most of our team members graduate to a senior consultant role and expand their knowledge base to then move into a lead consultant role. Once an individual has moved into a lead consultant role they’ll begin to get involved with project management. Some consultants find this the point in their career where they choose between pursing a path in management or architecture. If an individual pursues technical or solution architecture, they will develop experience to understand the solutions that are available to suit our clients’ needs, both from a business and technology perspective.
Whatever path your career takes, Perficient provides you with the opportunity to pursue positions that align with your career goals.
