Windows 8 Zip Missing Password Protection

Well I keep scratching my head on this, and still trying to figure out why Microsoft has removed the feature of adding a password to Zip files.
I have seen articles stating the password encrypting was not strong and could be easily hacked.  So I guess instead of improving this issue they decided to just remove the feature.
This was a great feature in Windows XP, but has been removed from all other OS starting with Windows Vista to the current Windows 8.
There is a work around for Windows 7, you can run your machine in XP mode.

With Vista and Windows 8 XP mode is not a supported option. You will need to use a third party utility Example 7-ZIP. The big downfall with a utility like 7-ZIP, is it needs to be installed on your machine and the one opening the zipped file.
I guess this is not a huge pain point but would sure be nice to still have this as built in functionality.
Hey at least we have a few ways to work around this inconvenience could be worse.
