WebSphere Portal 6.1 and 6.1.5 support timetable announced

IBM has recently announced that WebSphere Portal 6.1 and 6.1.5 will be withdrawn from sales on November 14, 2012. This means you won’t be able to download those versions from IBM after that date.

Now that date is not as important to current customers as is the date for when support will stop. IBM has set September 30, 2014 as the last day for official IBM support. This date gives customers about two years to upgrade their 6.1 environments.

You can read IBM’s announcement here: http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/ShowDoc.wss?docURL=/common/ssi/rep_ca/4/897/ENUS912-154/index.html&lang=en&request_locale=en

  1. I think you mean September, 2014. At least, I don’t think we’ll be supporting WebSphere Portal until 2104.
