New Connectors for Lotus Connections

One of the key trends you see within IBM is the concept of connectors.  You shouldn’t be forced to use a web interface to use a web based tool when you could connect to it from email, Office, Windows, and other platforms.   Suzanne Livingston on the Connections Blog just posted on the refresh of their connectors.

We’re very pleased to announce that the Lotus Connections 3.0 plugins and extensions have shipped!

They are live on the Business solutions Catalog (links below), & we encourage everyone to take them for a spin!

IBM Lotus Connections 3.0 Plug-in for Lotus Sametime
IBM Lotus Connections 3.0 Status Updates Plug-in for Lotus Notes (new)
IBM Lotus Connections 3.0 Plug-in for Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows
IBM Lotus Connections 3.0 Widget for Microsoft SharePoint (new)
IBM Lotus Connections 3.0 Plug-in for Microsoft SharePoint
IBM Lotus Connections 3.0 Portlets for WebSphere Portal
IBM Lotus Connections 3.0 Portlet Developer Pack

I particularly recommend the new portlets for Websphere Portal – they are a huge improvement on those shipped previously, and advise anyone that has Microsoft Sharepoint in their infrastructure to link it to Lotus Connections – the integration is excellent in Connections 3.0.
