OK, it’s not a perfect analogy to say that innovation = collaboration.  However, I do believe that you can make a point that with today’s complex world, innovation usually relies on a team of individuals.   Teams are complex beasts that have their own set of rules. The larger the teams become, the more difficult it is to do actual innovation.  Any tool that helps grease the wheels while allowing people to work in the way they want to work enables innovation.  Of course, I make that point in a video featured by IBM at Lotusphere 2010
