Speaking at Connect 2013

Saren Sakurai (@saren) and I will be speaking on Social CMO: Engaging the Consumer at the IBM Connect 2013 Conference.  For those of you attending, you can preview the session by going to the session preview tool and searching for CMO. We are BP402.  Here’s a quick agenda on what we’ll discuss:

  1. Awareness: Defining a target and crafting a message.  This has less to do with selling and more to do with making people aware of you.
  2. Engagement: Engaging the consumer in ways they want to interact with you and doing so in a way that will keep them coming pass. Hint: listening also helps.
  3. Acquisition: Using social channels to make engagements into something more
  4. Retention: Keep your relationship going with the customer using the power that social tools provide

IBM provide powerful social networking software in the form of IBM Connections but we’ll also look to the social media side of things because you cannot discount a variety of channels like Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, YouTube and a number of other sites.

We’d love to see you there.
