This HIMSS conference is going to be a busy one.  With over 27,000 people registered, its sure to be filled with many familiar faces and many new folks too!
I’ll have my camera again this year and will be talking to several Thought Leaders in the HealthIT space, many of whom participate in Healthcare Social Media. The Perficient team will be uploading the videos to our HIMSS page – you can see some of last year’s here too!
Social Media is a hot topic again this year at the HIMSS conference, with multiple sessions scheduled in the HIMSS Social Media Center (#HSMC).  The news that Twitter co-founder Biz Stone will be a keynote speaker at the conference, highlights the role Social Media now play in Health IT.  The HIMSS team and others will be on hand to help to educate folks on Social Media use.
I’ll be splitting my time this year at the HIMSS conference between the HIMSS Social Media Center and the Perficient (1274) and Microsoft (1629) booths.  I’ll be sharing information on how the Microsoft BI stack can be used to offer healthcare providers a lower total cost of ownership yet robust platform for managing  Meaningful Use reporting, Accountable Care Organization management and advanced analytic needs. Of course we’ll be demoing Health BI, Perficient’s ONC Certified solution for Meaningful Use Stage 2 & ACO reporting, that is built leveraging Microsoft’s SharePoint & SQL Server technologies too.
I’m also looking forward to talking to folks about the Epic Integration & Dashboard solutions that came to Perficient as part of last week’s announced PointBridge acquisition.  These will allow Epic EMR customers to take advantage of SharePoint and SQL Server to deliver in depth dashboards to analyze provider, patient, procedure, department, diagnosis, location, service date and more.
