Office Communications Server 2007 and CUPS – update

I’ve posted quite a few times about the Cisco CUPS and OCS integration. I last left off awaiting a Beta copy of CUPS 6.0.3 to see if it would resolve my major issue: original calls being put on hold when an admin answered a second call.

And I’ve got an answer: CUPS 6.0.3 definitely does fix that issue! Now for the bad news: it pretty much breaks every other aspect of the integration. At a minimum here are some symptoms:

  1. calls placed by IP phone can’t be controlled by MOC client (transfers, holds no longer work)
  2. calls placed by IP phone do screen pop with wrong called-number – it shows the callers own number
  3. calls placed by MOC client stay active for 30 sec, then MOC closes the session (IP phone call stays alive)
  4. Calls hung up with IP phone still show the MOC window open

So we had to roll back to the original version of CUPS. Grrr!

I have another TAC case open and will report any progress.
