Perficient Minneapolis Team Gives Back Through Annual Paint-A-Thon

Our Minneapolis team recently dedicated two weekends to a good cause. We participated in the Twin Cities Metro Paint-A-Thon program, which helps low-income seniors and people with special needs live independently despite their inability to perform maintenance themselves or hire a contractor.
We teamed up to not only restore a house exterior but also the homeowner’s sense of pride in the property.
The project was at no cost to the homeowner. During the first weekend, our team scraped off old paint and began priming the house exterior. Volunteers encountered a few hornet nests, which our General Manager Art Quinn removed to ensure the safety of everyone at the site.
The second weekend of the project consisted mostly of painting the house in a white-and-green color combination. Many colleagues brought their children to help out. They were eager to climb the ladders and paint the windows. They helped keep energy levels high and upped the fun with a couple breaks to catch a wild Pokémon that suddenly appeared in the backyard.

The homeowner expressed her gratitude by baking banana bread and making homemade strawberry jam for the entire Perficient Minneapolis office.
Devoting time and energy to community development projects like the Paint-A-Thon helps Perficient give back to a city that has supported our business since 1998. Volunteer initiatives also further strengthen team engagement and job satisfaction, all of which has helped lead to the StarTribune recognizing our Minneapolis office as a Top Workplace for the second consecutive year.
“At Perficient, our colleagues are guided by a shared sense of purpose,” said Art Quinn. “We take considerable pride in being named one of the Top Workplaces by the StarTribune.”
Erin Wold, a Perficient Digital colleague and one of the most recent college hires in our Minneapolis office, echoed that sentiment.
“As a millennial, it is important to me that I work at a place that gives back to the community, and I am happy that Perficient supports that goal,” she said.
