However, a new era of data-driven healthcare is emerging as players are starting to explore the power of “big data.” The healthcare industry warmly welcomed the application of business intelligence and has since invested heavily in electronic health records (EHR) to capture data that can be used to provide analytics to improve the quality of care rendered while reducing costs.
