As IBM puts it, mobile is not a secondary requirement on portals or websites these days.  With the purchase of WorkLight, IBM has proven that they are serious players in the mobile market.  With the release of the mobile theme for Portal 8, we start to see the leanings of support for responsive design.  Now, this template isn’t 100% responsive but it is getting there.  I would imagine we see some .X releases that go towards a fully responsive theme/template for the portal.  Here is a great video on what to expect in Portal 8 for mobile.  Enjoy!
